Not a brilliant shop, as you walk in the shop keeper never really says hello or anything. I wouldn't bother asking them to have a look at your loco because they have no idea what's wrong with it, they just say that it is fine. Don't bother asking them to save you something because they will not. Although this shop has quite a lot of stock. I would not recommend this shop!

Enquired about getting a new motor for my scalextric as mine was old and burnt out, I recieved a grunt from the shopkeeper as a responce, surprised the place is still open with such 'great' service

Typical of so many model shops - only exists for the owner and his mates, not any new customer. Rails/Sheffield is the same. And don't even bother going to MGShap in Sheffield: he's an utter misery!

The shop is well stocked and the prices are good. I would go on to say that apart from Malc's Models and Rails of Sheffield it's the Best model shop in the Derbyshire area. If you ask you will get some good down to earth advice and guidence. 9/10.

After several attempts, (due to the shop being closed, having signs on the door 'Back in 20 mins", etc.), I finally managed to visit the shop recently. The shop is fairly well-stocked, however that is the only good point about this establishment. Noticing that they stocked Heljan, I enquired if it would be possible to pre-order the forthcoming "Lion". I was told "No", as "You're hardly a regular."
Nor will I be. Very poor service, and not worth the return bus fare from Long Eaton to Chesterfield. 0.0001/10.

Shop owner treats you like you don't matter. I had to ask if he was the shop owner. No 'hello, how are you' when you walk in. More interested in talking to the croonies he had in there about the recent police antics in the town centre/cut backs/taxes/rent increases than dealing with a customer.
I even called a half hour or so before to check stock availability asking him to get it down and ready for me - had he - NO.
Shop inside looks just as it does from the outside - look on Google street maps - says it all.

The shop was well stocked but the customer service certainly wasn't with a smile, guy behind the counter was more interested in reading the paper than serving.
