I'll be honest i ain't visited properly in a while but when i last visited i was impressed with this model shop, they have a nice arrangement of suitable locos and rolling stock on display, it is great how the new releases are one of the first things you see when you arrive and they have a good arrangement of 2nd hand locos and rolling stock along other things to maintain, build and operate a model railway, the staff are really friendly and are more than happy to help you with any query, when purchasing a locomotive they put it on a short test track to show you it running to make sure you are happy with your purchase, i also like their anual exhibition when they invite some guests and bring in some traders like bachmann and some model railways that are to exhibition standards, so overall a pretty good model shop who are always more than happy to help any modeller of any age or experience.

I thought the shop was a fantastic and inviting place. The clear, wall to wall displays of products was fantastic, a display of such a wide range of products, displayed in a customer friendly manner was fantastic. Staff were found to be pleasant and helpful, answering my questions and helping me find what I wanted.
Overall, a fantastic shop, great service, huge range of new stock, and a good stock of second hand items, and I will deffinately be returning in the future.

The quality of service I have experienced at Trains4U is very good. I place more emphasis on the ability of a shop to provide currently listed items at a reasonable price in a welcoming environment ahead of the ability to provide spares or service for long discontinued items in the way 'thetriangman' unreasonably expects.
It is encouraging to see a newer business growing and improving all the time when many other shops that do not stock similar breadth of products and/or unwelcoming attitude are disappearing.

Staff seemed a bit grumpy, nerdy when I went in about a year ago. Learnt that there had been breakins and shop lifters and as aprivately owned business this prob hit hard so perhaps a wrong day. Recently went in Aug and all more lively and helpful.
Great range of stock and looks like improving all the time. A good sofa to relax in + good looking coffee-too for wifes, partners or to look a railway mags. I also liked the second hand boxes, some of which looks very useful and nostalgic.I was pleased to see airfix stuff there too.
To the bad reviews I suggest give them a chance, to the shop I say seek to improve on all fronts. If there is a subject that you are not up to speed on like the Triang xyz whatsit then say so. Some of us when we are in nerd mood are focussed and grumpy but that should be a route to share knowledge! And an excuse for us to learn to be sociabe! Some of us just arent sociable. I found the shop big, airy, cheerful and no pressure to buy. So the best in area for me- and appears to be getting better!
