A lovely family business, extremely friendly whose help and advice is invaluable. They would do their utmost to get information on a product if i could not locate it myself and order it for me. Always have a smile for you with pleasant service and are pleased with a welcome to help in every way.
I have used them for years and have filled my apartment with purchases that sadly i had to take a breather but i need a little help again and i know who i can turn to. Amazing people, shop, service, welcome and stock. Great Eastern should not be overlooked if you want something.

Just visited looking for N-gauge people for a "dwellings in the landscape" project I'm building for an art diploma. They had a choice of three makes (& price ranges), with lots of choice on types of people and were very helpful.

A very friendly yet professional team who have given and continue to give a quality service from a shop which is filled with the most desirable of goodies. If you can imagine being a child again, in Santas grotto, that is exactly the feeling you get when you visit this wonderful establishment. Sadly, some of the faces who graced the shop in its earlier years are no longer with us but the present staff offer the same warm welcome and enthusiastic service as did their predecessors. A delightful place to browse for a while and come away with a special bargain. Do visit them, you'll be glad you did!

Shop has now gone over to 100% model railway, with new ranges added to fill the space previously occupied by toys, diecast and plastic kits etc. They are trying harder on the pricing front as well, and you might be surprised to see how keen prices are on locos in particular. There is more room given over to second hand models as well, and while it comes and goes, there is a reasonable stock of preowned goodies most of the time.
